Hot Honey and Four ways to use it
Spicey chilli sauces are having a moment and for good reason! They really ring dishes to life and brighten up even the most basic meals! Crispy chilli oil drizzle over eggs is a game changer. But of all the different spicey sauces you can get, crispy chilli ( or chilli crisp?), hot sauce, chilli jam – hot honey is my favourite. I made this a few years ago for my husband for Valentine’s Day and we’ve been hooked since!
This is a pretty basic recipe, I think finding a really good quality honey is key for depth of flavour. I’m using a local raw South African honey. So many shop-bought sauces have tons of additives, stabilisers and flavourings – this is such a simple recipe with only three ingredients and takes less than 15 minutes to make!
